Very good press
by .. R. Eason (Missouri United States)
I've had mine about 8 months...works great.
- Made of cast iron with wood dowel handle.
- 8 5/8 inch diameter
- Handle attached with 2 screws
I took the handle off and seasoned mine in the oven a few times using bacon grease.
Only gripe is the handle.
- It should be more securely attached.
- If you don't grab the handle in the middle you can hurt yourself.
I'd buy it again.
Makin Bacon

Helps to keep the grease from popping and keeps the bacon straight. Use a good non-stick skillet or you bacon will be stuck to the bottom.
Norpro Bacon Press

Nice and heavy, perfect size for a 10" fry pan. Works well on the grill for steaks and burgers. Keep it seasoned so the cast iron will not rust and you will have this kitchen gadget for years to come.
Review for Norpro Round Bacon Press
by .. V. Magee ()
I bought this as a last minute Christmas gift for my boyfriend. He loves it and I used it for the first time yesterday I thought it worked very well. The bacon cooked evenly on both sides.
It might be too heavy....
by .. Alan A. Becker (Powder Springs, GA)
I already have a rectangular cast iron bacon press. I worry about the corners scratching my non stick pans. This round press was purchased [purchased 3, 2 for gifts] and I've tried it 3 or 4 times. I believe it might be too heavy as it presses bacon down to the point of sticking to a pan, at least a seasoned cast iron pan. I'm not that experienced a cook but I think a lighter press would work better and will look for and purchase another just for bacon. This press was also a bit too heavy for grilled cheese sandwiches.
I would rather use a lighter press and push down with hand force IF I want more pressure.
